Ayurvedic Treatment for Cervical Spondylosis
What is Cervical Spondylosis?
Cervical spondylosis is a degenerative condition of the cervical spine which is generally caused by age-related wearing and tearing in the cushion between the joints of the neck and the neck bone. Cervical spondylosis is also known as Osteoarthritis of the neck.
In this condition of the neck, the intervertebral disc, which acts as a cushion between two vertebrae, undergoes damage due to many reasons, of which ageing is the prominent one. With the disk degeneration, the movements of the neck also get restricted; accompanied by the damage to the edges of the vertebrae, leading to increased pressure on nerves originating from cervical vertebrae.
In Ayurveda, this condition arises due to Sandhigata Vata of the Neck. Vitiated Vata dosha results in various symptoms. We will be discussing them all in the following sections.
